Leslie
Tang Schilling
Leslie Tang Schilling was born in New York. Before the age of
1, her family moved to Hong Kong where her father, Jack Tang, managed
South Sea Textile Manufacturing, Limited; a family owned business
which eventually went public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Growing up in Hong Kong, Leslie graduated High School from Hong
Kong International School. She then attended University of California
at Berkeley where she graduated with a double degree in Political
Science and Economics. After working for Wells Fargo Bank for two
years, Leslie returned to school to earn a Masters in International
Management.
Leslie has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area almost continuously
since graduate school. She manages her own investment management
business together with her husband, Alexander Schilling, Jr.
They are both active on non-profit boards as well on the boards
of several businesses. Leslie has a long history of serving on
business sponsored Boards, such as the SF Chamber of Commerce,
and the Small Business and Agriculture Advisory Board to the
Federal Reserve 12th. District. She is currently on the Board
of the Bay Area Council. In the “for profit world”,
Leslie has a history of serving on Boards for companies in the
financial world. After 10 years as a Director of the Pacific
Bank N.A., she currently is in her 5th. Year as a director of
Golden West Financial publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
