Savio W. Tung

Savio Tung is a Senior Partner at Investcorp and is currently the Managing Partner of the Global Technology Investment Group. He has been involved with most of the corporate buyouts carried out at Investcorp during his twenty years with the firm. Savio is a member of Investcorp’s Investment Commitment Committee. He is also a member of Investcorp’s Financial Risk Management Committee, which is responsible for $3 billion of the firm’s hedge fund investment portfolio.

Before joining Investcorp in 1984, Savio Tung was a senior banker with Chase Manhattan Bank and worked at its offices in New York, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and London. He played a key role in establishing Chase’s Bahrain office and its marketing presence in the Gulf. He also served as Chase’s Chief Representative in the United Arab Emirates.

Prior to joining the Investcorp Technology Investment Group, Savio was the head of Investcorp’s US private equity team, which increased from four to thirty professionals during this period. This team successfully led many US buyout investments, building the US operations.

Savio has served on the boards of many of Investcorp portfolio companies, including Club Car, Circle K, Saks Fifth Avenue, Star Market, Stratus Computer and CSK Auto. He is currently chairman of Vaultus, and board member of ObjectStar, Utimaco, Willtek and Viewlocity. He is a member of the Committee of 100. He is also a board member and treasurer of the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center, an affiliate of Rockefeller University.

Savio holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University. He is a trustee of Columbia University and is on the board of the Columbia Investment Management Company, an endowment of over $4.4 billion. He chairs the Budget Committee of Columbia University and is a member of the Columbia University Medical Center (“Health Science”) Committee.
