Walter Hsu

Born in 1966 in Washington, DC to FF Bro Ronald and Alice Hsu, Walter Hsu grew up in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC. Walter attended local schools and grew up as a typical American teenager, playing sports and hanging out with friends. Academics were not a high priority. Walter graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park, with a B.S. in
Economics. During his college days, he was gainfully employed by several Washington, DC establishments working as a bouncer. After traveling throughout Asia for a couple of years, Walter enrolled at the American University Business School and graduated with a Masters in Business Administration in real estate and urban development.

Just prior to graduation from business school, Walter began his own business (HSU development) developing small residential real estate projects, building new homes and renovating old ones. Shortly thereafter, the business took a turn into the commercial sector and flourished tremendously, placing three times on INC Magazine's list of the 500 fastest growing companies in the country. Today the company is one of the most visible construction contractors with projects at the White House, Smithsonian, Wolftrap, the National Institutes of Health. The company has also undertaken an important role for various federal agencies in their Homeland
Security measures. Walter is largely defined by his business and its success, as he is the founder, president, and owner and ultimately responsible for all aspects of its daily operations. In his spare time, he dabbles in real estate and is on the continuous lookout for good investments.

On a personal note, Walter enjoys many sports, as well as running and working out.

When not working or playing, Walter spends time with his devoted wife of 6 years. Walter and Amber met at a Chinese New Year function sponsored by the Organization of Chinese Americans in 1996. While still an attorney, Amber usually spends her days at Walter's office, helping out with legal issues or charitable, pro bono projects. They have 3 children, Whitney (5), Damon (3)
and Dylan (2), who are usually causing trouble at their home in Potomac, MD. On occasion, the family is able to get away to their beach house in Ocean City, Maryland.
