Ronnie C. Chan
Mr. Ronnie C. Chan is Chairman of Hang Lung Group Limited
and Hang Lung Properties Limited, both publicly listed companies
in Hong Kong with property developments and investments in
Hong Kong and Shanghai. He co-founded the privately held Morningside
group which owns and manages private companies around the world.
He is a former director of Standard Chartered PLC and Motorola,
Inc., and was a government appointed non-executive director
of The Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong.
Mr. Chan is Vice Chairman of the Asia Society and Chairman
of its Hong Kong Center, Chairman of the Executive Committees
of the Better Hong Kong Foundation and the One Country Two
Systems Research Institute, and Chairman of the China Heritage
Fund, which restores cultural relics in the mainland of China.
He is also a member of the board of directors of the China
Development Research Foundation of the State Council of the
People’s Republic of China and a member of the Council
on Foreign Relations.
Mr. Chan is a former member of the Foundation Board of the
World Economic Forum and of the governing bodies of the East-West
Center, Pacific Council on International Policy, Eisenhower
Fellowships, and The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation.
He is also the founding chairman of the Asia Business Council
and a former chairman of the Hong Kong-United States Business
Council.
Mr. Chan is a Trustee of the University of Southern California,
where he received his MBA. He also is a member of the Governing
Board of the Indian School of Business and the Court of the
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is a frequent
speaker at international conferences, and has published numerous
articles in the International Herald Tribune, Financial Times,
Newsweek, Fortune, Asian Wall Street Journal, Far Eastern Economic
Review and Japan Times.
